Privacy

Last updated September 15, 2026

This site is built to respect your privacy. There are no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, and no data brokers. Here's exactly what is — and isn't — collected.

Visitor stats

We keep our own lightweight, anonymous count of traffic, and wepublish it openly. For each page view we record the page path, your country (provided by Cloudflare's network), the referring site if any, and an anonymous visitor marker.

That marker is a daily-rotating hash — a one-way SHA-256 fingerprint of your IP address and browser, mixed with a secret and the current date. It lets us count unique visitors for a day without knowing who you are, and it resets every 24 hours, so it can't follow you over time.

What we do not do:

  • No cookies for analytics.
  • Your IP address is never stored.
  • No cross-site tracking, no browser fingerprinting, no ad networks.
  • No third-party analytics services. Nothing is sold or shared.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your email address (plus the date and where you signed up) in our own database. We use double opt-in: you'll get an email to confirm, and you're only added once you click the link. We use your address only to send you new stories — never shared, never sold. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time.

Comments

If you leave a comment, the name and details you provide are stored with the comment so it can be displayed. Don't include anything you wouldn't want shown publicly.

Cookies

Only essential, non-tracking cookies are used:

  • A theme preference cookie, so the site remembers light or dark mode.
  • A session cookie, only if you log in to the admin area.

There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

Where your data lives

The site runs on Cloudflare. Content, subscriber emails, and the anonymous stats above are stored in Cloudflare's database (D1) and object storage (R2), within this site's own account.
